Yoga in the life of a contemporary
person -
The theme of this book is yoga as a way of life. It is a
small selection of short texts that Květoslav Minařík
wrote during three decades as answers to questions and
problems of his disciples.
The introductory texts start with an explanation of the
meaning of yoga, its place in the everyday life of a normal
citizen, and how it helps to solve the problems of life.
The author devotes considerable attention to the way
concentration is carried out, he warns against its
incorrect understanding and in the short text, which is
co-authored by doc. MUDr. Antonín Bajer
he provides proofs of the brain activity during
various types of yogic concentration. Futher texts deal
with various philosophical and spiritual schools, which
are today again topical, such as Buddhism and Zen
Buddhism. The following texts shed light on the
relationships between yoga and physical and mental
health, the question of immortality and the problem of
sexuality. For an easier orrientation in the less well
known, or for this author specific terms, there is a vocabulary
appended. At the end there are several personal memories
of Květoslav Minařík by a top Czech Indologist PhDr.
Boris Merhaut.
