A Small mystic encyclopaedia,
which was originally meant to be a glossary for his own
books about mysticism, grew in the hands of Květoslav
Minařík until it became a book of popular science,
accessible to every person interested in the spiritual
teachings. It explains the basic terms of the
spiritual teachings and their relationships to other
scientific fields. The thematic range of 1800
entries is immensely broad: there are meeting points
between psychology, physiology, neurology, physics and
the mystic practice;
Christianity, Buddhism and other oriental religious as
well as philosophical schools, Tibetan mysticism and
various European philosophies;
astrology. There are the basic concepts of the yogic
practice of various yogas, the steps in the realisation
of these and problems which are encountered by people
trying to live according to the spiritual moral
principles and still many others. All this is explained
from the point of view of a master of mysticism,
a practitioner, who has personally verified all the
instructions.
Excerpt from the introduction:
After writing several books about mysticism I was
thinking that it would be ideal if they were
supplemented by an encyclopaedia, mainly due to the fact
that the reader might understand some terms used in the
books in a different way than they were meant; and also
because an encyclopaedia can contain further
instructions to supplement the mystic theory, needed for
the mystic practice. I have selected the terms for this
encyclopaedia completely at random, however, with a
consideration that it should include mainly physics and
psychology, as far as their special terms have
a relation to mystics. – I believe that I have in this
encyclopaedia completely covered a set of theoretical
aids for the mystic path, and now I can only wish the
reader to use it for the right correction in views and
for a progress towards their own benefit as well as the
benefit of those who are necessarily influenced by their
actions. |
